Jamie started doing internships and competitions at the age of 13 and from there was able to be mentored by some great chefs in Spokane including Louis Huang, Chad White, and Jeremy Hansen.
She really loved competing in FCCLA and ProStart culinary competitions. In those competitions Jamie won the state level FCCLA competition and competed in nationals and won the student of the year award at ProStart.
She continued on to receive opportunities to cook with iron chef Cat Cora (who was her idol growing up) and chef Antonia lafaso of Food Network. The opportunity to cook with them taught her about what kind of chef she wants to be which is the same as the person she wants to be. Honest. Honest cooking for honest people.
Since pursuing her sous chef certification and hospitality degree at WSA she has been able to work under Jamie Callison once again for WSU hospitality catering as well as working side by side with the whole WSU dining and catering team. Jamie also has been lucky enough to work for Roosters in Clarkston, Banyans on the Ridge, and the Black Cypress. She’s been able to learn so much through her endeavors and continues to look forward to learning more and more.
